Be picked up from the airport and embark on a 2 ½ hrs journey to reach the historic city of Galle.
The city of Galle was a major seaport for the export of ivory, cinnamon and other valuables. Annexation of the city by the colonial powers brought the city to glorious architectural heritage of Portuguese, Dutch and British respectively.
As it is your first day spend the rest of the day relaxing and revitalizing yourself.

In the afternoon take a tour around Galle Fort.
Step back in time to an era of cobbled streets, walled cities and grand colonial houses as you explore this 18th Century Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage City). This living piece of history will take you to an era where Ceylon was a hub for spice trade along the naval silk route. This morning visit Mulkirigala Rock Temple.
Situated 20km from the Tangalle town, perched on top of a boulder 200m high from the ground is the Mulkirigala Rock temple. The carvings of the inscriptions of the rock suggests that this temple dates back more than 2000 years and it consists of seven cave temples situated in 5 different terraced areas in different altitudes.
